Interview Summary

Interview with Walter Rogger who was born in 1909 in Leipzig and came to the UK as a Refugee from Nazism. Walter was born in Leipzig in 1909 to a highly assimilated well-off family. He spent a lot of time in America prior to 1933 but moved back to Leipzig to work full-time for the family export business. Walter discusses the rise in antisemitism and comments that one of his uncles was unfortunate to have shaken hands with Hitler. Walter and his wife were married in England in 1936. They had a terrible time trying to get their parents out. Walter spent five months in an interment camp on the Isle of Man.
