"…so many of them didn't make it. Lottie Krakow didn't make it, the girl I loved. A lot of the other pupils didn't make it. So, I feel it's important to tell the story so far as I know it so that people should understand, these were innocent children, totally innocent children who did not understand why this was being done to them."

They always talk like that. And I feel it's my duty. I survived because, uh, really to tell the story."
